The Scepter Thief

A desperate fugitive murders a wealthy elder who holds an imperial Royal Scepter and assumes his identity in a remote Han Dynasty town. As he meticulously forges letters, manages the estate, and deceives the community, his technical perfectionism grows into a prison. The mask becomes the man, and the man becomes a ghost haunting his own stolen life, all while a dogged clerk closes in.
