Novel Summary
In the perpetually overcast city of Ashwick, former teacher Adrian Morrow has been hollowed out by a brutal police assault and a hollow victory in court. When a series of bodies appears—each posed as a disturbingly beautiful art installation—Morrow plunges into an obsessive hunt. He discovers the architect is reclusive sculptor Elias Voss, who believes murder is the ultimate artistic act. As Morrow pursues Voss, his desperate need for truth warps into a pathological communion, blurring the line between seeker and subject. Their final collaboration will consume everything, proving that the darkest masterpieces demand total sacrifice.
