The Frozen Verdict

On the Solaris Ice Shelf, a sudden fracture in the ice cuts off all supply lines to a remote Western research station. Stranded and alone, climatologist Elias Gaddis discovers that the new communications officer, Henry Wood, is actually Kurt Braun, a notorious war criminal who underwent facial reconstruction. As Gaddis tries to expose the truth, he finds himself fighting not just a monster, but the overwhelming human desire to believe the "smooth lie" that promises order over chaos. In this claustrophobic abyss, history repeats itself: the innocent are condemned so that the convenient narrative can survive.
