Clean Hands

In the decaying metropolis of Xingang, a colossal river dredging project meant to save the city becomes a monument to corruption. Fang Mu, a disgraced forensic accountant framed for refusing a bribe, works as a rideshare driver, nursing a self-destructive obsession with moral purity. He stumbles upon a series of suicides among high-profile women connected to the project. Identifying the invisible hand of a psychological predator known only as “Mr. K,” Fang Mu constructs a counter-persona, a phantom corrupt tycoon, to infiltrate the predator’s world. It is a duel between two masters of manipulation: a nihilistic hunter who discards lives like broken toys, and a fallen hero who believes that seeing the world's rot is no excuse to become part of it. But as monsoon rains swell the river, the city's concrete sins literally burst, forcing a reckoning in the floodwaters.
