The Terminal Experiment

In the hyper-secure Kita Prison of the fictional state of Shinonome, death row inmate Sho Tsujimura—convicted of a brutal fraud-murder spree—dies mysteriously hours before his execution. Prosecutor Makoto Nogami uncovers that the death masks an illegal human experimentation program led by a pharmaceutical giant and prison authorities, turning condemned criminals into living test subjects. As he digs deeper, he realizes that societal progress has not eliminated crime; it has only made it more sophisticated, hidden within sterile labs and digital ledgers.
